I made a little mistake here and at the beginning of the row I knitted only three columns.
It is not necessary here to connect the last loop of the row with the first, as is usually the case when knitting napkins. Starting from the third row to the 6th in this napkin, the air loops at the beginning of the row perform not only the role of lifting the row, but also are an element of the pattern, i.e. there is a smooth transition from the previous row to the next.
3rd row: we alternate 4 air loops (VP) and 6 columns with 2 crochets (С2Н). We look at the diagram that when knitting the middle 4 columns, the hook must be inserted into the base of the columns of the previous row, and we knit the first and sixth columns, introducing the hook under the chain of air loops of the previous row.
4th row: we alternate 5 air loops (VP) and 8 columns with 2 crochets (С2Н).

Again I have a favorite topic for you - crochet: napkins are simple, I would say the simplest! I made a small selection of schemes for small round napkins, the beauty of which lies in their simplicity, it seems to me. And these schemes are useful not only for beginners.
I met one of the patterns recently in the networks, I really liked it, so that I immediately crocheted this simple napkin. It seems to be looking good.
In addition, everything that I knit, I try to capture on video now. A photo of a napkin, a diagram, a description and a video will be below.
Personally, I really like it when openwork napkins are knitted from thin threads for sewing. They then turn out so tender and elegant.
But in this case, slightly thicker threads are just right for small napkins, cotton ones with “flower” names will be just right:

A diamond-shaped napkin should start from a chain of air loops. Further expansion of the canvas occurs according to the example of a round or radial shape. After knitting several rows, decrease from two opposite sides of the napkin, continuing to knit the other two sides.
Sometimes, to give the napkin the necessary shape, it is not knitted in a circle, but starting from one side, such as napkins made with fillet crochet. In this way, you can achieve not only a square or rectangular shape, but also any other.
